Snapshot: The Glico guy of Dotonbori – Osaka, Japan

Dotonbori is the gastronomic epicenter of Osaka, Japan. This world-famous street runs from Dotonbori Bridge to Nipponbashi Bridge, as well as on both sides stand lots of restaurants whose facades are decorated with enormous, electronic displays.

Many of these neon billboards have ended up being long-term landmarks of the district. one of them — the Glico Man. Installed in 1935, this gigantic smiling athlete is a sign of Glico candy.
