I had a terrific view from where the Radar station of PAGASA (Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical services Administration).
Crested majestically on a rolling hill is the Ivatan stonehouse-inspired Tukon Chapel. Farther north stands the Basco Lighthouse whose brightness makes it stand apart in a sea of greens of Naidi Hills and blues of the West Philippine Sea. In the distance rises Dinem Island. Behind it lies a faint silhouette of Itbayat, the country’s northernmost municipality.
How to get there: From Basco airport or your inn in the town proper, the PAGASA Radar station is available by tricycle and is one of the stops of North Batan Tour. If you’re staying at Fundacion Pacita, it is within walking distance.
